Atlantic and Macaronesia

On 11-13 October 2023, the marine Atlantic and Macaronesian seminar was hosted by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) in Dublin, Ireland. In addition to reviewing the submitted pledges in the Atlantic and Macaronesian marine regions, participants discussed the following themes on the last day of the event:

  • Role of Natura 2000 sites and other MPAs in marine restoration;
  • Strict protection in the Atlantic and Macaronesian marine region, and;
  • Renewable energy and marine conservation.
